ana’s story

Born in Olongapo, Philippines, Ana Tuazon Parsons is a classically trained multi–hyphenate performer, writer, and stand-up comic. Last seen in Broadway houses as the villainous Orchid, Moriarty’s cohort, opposite David Arquette in the touring production of Arthur Conan Doyle’s contemporary rendition of Sherlock Holmes. She’s worked with Philip Seymour Hoffman’s Labyrinth Theatre Company at the Public, produced theater and film including off-off Broadway, sold out a site-specific pop-up theatre in LA’s thriving arts district, and worked at numerous theaters around the country performing both contemporary and classical work. She can be seen on hit shows including Showtime’s The Affair and Dexter. Ana also portrayed the iconic character Chun Li in the College Humor series: Street Fighter, The Later Years. 

As a stand-up comic, Ana’s been on stages as a Main Stage regular and performer. Stages include: the Comedy Store in Los Angeles, Ice House Pasadena, and Gotham Comedy in New York. She co-wrote and performed in Jeremy Lin, The Musical: The Unauthorized Journey to Linsanity, which ran in Los Angeles and San Francisco to sold-out houses.  The proceeds from the shows were donated to Love Never Fails World Charity benefiting women affected by human trafficking.  

Most recently Ana wrote, produced, and performed in her three-comic special, Asian American – Eyz’d: An Immigrant Comedy Special narrating her life as a Filipina immigrant in contemporary America (now streaming on Reel Women’s Network). Profits from the performances supported TIYYA Foundation assisting displaced immigrants and refugees. As a producer, writer, and artist, Ana believes in uplifting marginalized communities and is a passionate advocate of women, children, and immigrants’ rights. And as an activist, Ana ran the non-profit / outreach division of BGB Studio (founded by legendary casting director Risa Bramon Garcia and master teacher Steve Braun). encouraging artists to engage and give back. She continues to volunteer throughout the Los Angeles area.

As a writer, Ana’s semi–autobiographical pilot, The Asian That Didn’t, lives as a proud finalist for Sundance Episodic Lab, Showtime’s Tony Cox Award, and The Orchard Project. She continues to pen television that spotlights the Fil–Am experience – along with numerous other projects. A scholarship recipient at Groundlings, UCB, BGB Studio, and Writers Bootcamp with Jeffery Gordon.
